TorikeFude

Torike fude (鳥毛筆, とりけ ふで, i.e “bird feather brush”)

A brush made of various kinds of bird feathers. Mainly rooster feathers are used, although there are brushes made of guinea fowl, green pheasant, etc. These brushes are extremely soft and absorbent, and thus very difficult to control. However, they produce the spectacular effect of “shredded” lines, which adds a certain ambience and dynamism to a given work.
