Kata (肩, かた, shoulders)

A part of the brush tuft. “Shoulders” support “the stomach” (腹, はら, hara), which is a space formed by a different hair length designed to hold the ink and release it gradually during writing, through “the throat” (喉, のど, nodo). Please click here to read more about calligraphy brushes.
